I have had the opportunity to work with many wonderful leaders and organizations. You can check out what they have to say about my work below.

I had the pleasure of working with Corita over the course of a three-year national demonstration project. Corita provided coaching and consulting on strategy, design and facilitation for our learning cohort of ten nonprofit organizations. She brought us years of experience and knowledge in the form of helpful learning frameworks, creative group facilitation, planning strategies and benchmarking tools to drive our work. Corita is a down to earth, collaborative spirit, who brings heart and mind to the work.  She helped advance our initiative’s goals, and provided mentorship and support unparalleled to anything I had previously received. I am extremely grateful to have worked with Corita and highly recommend her partnership.

— Emily Merritt, Director of Intergenerational Initiatives, Alliance for Strong Families and Communities

I am so grateful for the opportunity my class, community members, and I had to work with Corita. Corita brought her wisdom and her ability to create and facilitate a grounded and expansive learning experience to an academic/community partnership in the Austin neighborhood in Chicago. There are many things I appreciate about Corita. One thing I look to her for is her ability to infuse both practical and heart-centered elements to the work, connecting people to each other and the issues in a reflective way that leads to transformative shifts in how we think about the work we are engaging in together. It’s this deep-listening presence and caring for the work we are engaged in that makes Corita an exceptional facilitator, coach, and leader.

— Dr. Kristin Bodiford, Principal, Community Strengths

Corita Brown and Lisa Garrett’s coaching and consistent feedback helped me understand how I needed to shift my own leadership stance in order to get the results I was looking for, including more engagement and autonomy from everyone in our organization, and better relationships among the staff, especially across lines of power and authority. They are consummate facilitators and coaches, able to bring people along through the challenges of organizational change and offering ways to adopt new perspectives and learn the practices and skills needed for a healthy, values-driven workplace.

I worked closely with Corita for four years at Encore.org, a non-profit dedicated to bridging generational divides and accelerating intergenerational solutions to pressing social problems. Corita designed and facilitated numerous learning cohorts for our nonprofit and public sector partners. She created compelling and highly interactive virtual and in-person learning experiences for diverse audiences and provided customized coaching and strategic advising to dozens of leaders and practitioners in our network on program development, culturally responsive design, evaluation, communications, and replication. In addition, Corita helped us synthesize our learning and share it broadly through practical guides, toolkits, and white papers. Corita has challenged me to think more expansively about diversity, equity and inclusion and has been instrumental in helping me bring a stronger racial equity lens to my work. When you hire Corita, not only do you get an experienced researcher, writer and coach who takes the time to understand your context and organizational culture, you get a masterful designer and facilitator of learning experiences and a passionate advocate for engaging the assets of all generations.

BakerRipley, the largest non-profit community development organization in Texas, had the distinct honor of working with Corita Brown over the course of several years while we were formally engaged in creating new, and expanding our existing intergenerational programs.  Not only was Corita a pleasure to work with, she was a brilliant thought partner as we worked to highlight the need and value of bringing generations together to improve lives of both the young and old in Houston.  She challenged us, supported us, encouraged us and was a wealth of knowledge and resources that she generously shared to help guide our work in this space.  Corita is one of the best listeners I have ever worked with, and she is an avid champion for approaches that build on organizational strengths.  We all learned so much from her, and I would highly recommend her to anyone seeking a skilled, thoughtful, insightful, collaborative and incredibly smart consultant or leader.

— Jane Bavineau, Vice President, BakerRipley

I've had the great opportunity with work with Corita Brown during our efforts to pilot and replicate a county-wide intergenerational volunteer initiative. Corita helped our organization understand the national, regional and local landscape and context of our work. She designed and facilitated processes that helped us experiment with new approaches, build relationships, and maintain continuous progress. I appreciate how she recognizes the skills, talents and expertise of those she works with. Corita’s insight and compassion make her a motivating and inspiring partner in the midst of very challenging work. Corita is an invaluable resource for any organization seeking reflective, accessible processes to address complex systems-level efforts. We will definitely seek out Corita's services in the future.

It was my pleasure to work closely with Corita at Temple University’s Intergenerational Center where she provided strategic advising and training for our national network of non-profits, community leaders, educational institutions, government agencies, and foundations. She designed innovative training and engaged in research efforts to document the impact of the network members’ intergenerational programs and practices. Corita also provided design consulting and facilitation for our national convenings. The processes she designed helped a highly diverse group of multigenerational leaders reflect on their experiences, practice new skills, engage in powerful conversations and build meaningful relationships. Corita’s deep understanding of organizational and community development, her excellent problem-solving skills, and her commitment to social justice were tremendous assets. I would highly recommend Corita as a consultant. She is a great thought partner who is eager to both share her knowledge and learn from others.

I felt a deep sense of reciprocity and trust with Corita.  She helped me develop resources and strategies to navigate my identity as a white woman committed to racial justice. With Corita’s support, I was able to connect to my personal leadership path alongside, but distinct, from my organization's strategy and dynamics. She was attuned to my needs and asked great, insightful questions. She provided structure and kept my focus on goals and strategies for connecting to my values and insights.  Corita helped me to build my own tools and tool kit so that I can more effectively respond to the challenges that come up. She demonstrated great faith in me and made me feel that I hold innate value and knowledge. Corita helped me to access the resources within me.

What a gift to work with Corita! I felt an instant connection and ability to open up to Corita after only meeting her virtually. Corita encouraged me to explore, to trust, and to embrace my intuition and life's complexities with grace, humor, and courage. We accomplished so much in such a short period of time as I navigated an ever-changing landscape and what I now recognize to be self-imposed limits and road blocks. Saying goodbye on our last call felt like taking a good friend to the train station after a short visit-- a bittersweet moment, but one sealed with a renewed sense of strength and energy for the work ahead.

Rebecca Chan, Nonprofit Executive Director

Corita’s coaching was invaluable in my transition to a new role and organization. Her meaningful questions, deep listening, and her holistic and embodied approaches, guided me to ground in my strengths and values, and to be more compassionate and aware of the places my self doubt was inhibiting my voice and leadership. Corita supported me to explore the ways white dominant culture manifests in my expectations of myself and others and to bring intentionality to noticing and disrupting harmful patterns while building new practices aligned with my vision of care and liberation. She gently encouraged me to sit with discomfort, and held space with humor and love.
